I built my first guitar in 1992, which gained me a three year apprenticeship with reknowned bluegrass mandolin builder Steve Gilchrist.

After this time I returned to my own workshop to concentrate on building dreadnought-style guitars, spending several years researching this instrument and developing techniques to optimise the construction, sound and finish.

I have a passion for both bluegrass and celtic music, and since 1998 I have researched and developed my own innovative range of mandolin family instruments. This range now includes bouzouki, mandola and mandolin.

My instruments are built for optimum acoustic sound quality, with an emphasis on volume and mid-range projection.

In 1998 I decided to limit the range of instruments that I make to those specifically designed for the music that I love to play. As a musician myself, I know exactly the qualities required by players and have incorporated these to provide a range of superb acoustic instruments.
